Diabetes exam

A diabetes exam involves seeing a doctor for a focused medical history, physical examination, and laboratory tests to diagnose diabetes or evaluate complications from diabetes. During this visit, the doctor will ask if you have had symptoms of low or high glucose (hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic events), abnormal or decreased sensation in the feet and hands, and neurological, or visual symptoms. A physical examination may include an examination of the back of your eye (fundoscopy) and a comprehensive cardiovascular exam, while laboratory tests will look at your kidney function and glycosylated hemoglobin level.
