A breast stereotactic guided biopsy is a diagnostic procedure for obtaining a small portion of tissue for the evaluation of a breast mass. A mammogram x-ray will be performed and your doctor will use this to guide the biopsy procedure, which is done under local anesthesia through a very small incision. You will be asked to lay on a special bed and your breast will be placed on a grid to guide the biopsy.
