Ovarian cyst removal

An ovarian cyst is a liquid-filled benign mass of the ovary that may need removal when large or symptomatic. Often, cyst removal can be performed as a minimally invasive procedure known as laparoscopy. This is performed through a small surgical incision that allows fine surgical instruments and a tiny camera to be inserted into the abdomen to remove or lance the cyst. This surgery can be performed at outpatient surgical centers.
